Pirmie izstādes apmeklētāji varēs nogaršot rupjmaizi, kas taisīta no ierauga, kas gatavots, no 1944. gadā izvestās maizes garozām. Vēlāk izstādes apmeklētājiem būs iespēja sekot līdz ierauga pavairošanai, un pat dabūt gabaliņu ierauga maizes cepšanai. During the year when Riga is the European Capital of Culture, the “KGB Building” will be holding a new exhibit. From May 1st until October 19th, Latvians Abroad will be hosting the on-display exhibition, A Latvian’s Suitcase. The exhibit will reveal what Latvians had packed in their suitcases when leaving their homeland. From belongings to historical photographs, all sorts of objects will be on display for visitors to look at. Furthermore, there will also be animations that will help tell stories about a few Latvians’ travels and prospects around the world. Though the formation of the exhibit started more than a year ago, these last few months have shown more of the visible aspects of the exhibit’s works. For a brief insight of the creation of the exhibition please click here  šeit. Zane Oborenko’s animations, which are created by an unusual sand technique, will illustrate a few of the items’ stories. The first visitors of the exhibition will have an opportunity to taste rye-bread that has been made by leaven. Above all, it was prepared from a crust of bread that had been baked in 1944. Afterwards, visitors will follow along the process of how leaven is used. In the end, they are gladly welcomed to take a bit of leaven and a recipe to bake their own bread. We will welcome you with open arms from May 1st until Octover 19th: Mondays: 10:00—16:00; Tuesdays: closed; Wednesdays: 10:00—20:00; Thursdays—Sundays: 10:00—18:00.R14_notikums_liet_rad
